it was determined by three scientists name Macarty , avery and MacLeod by using three enzymes named DNase RNase and protease out of this when DNase was used with heat killed s -strain bacteria mice survived hence dna is the genetic material.

Experiment by Avery, Mc Carty and McLeod in 1944.

Explanation:

Griffith from his experiment came to the conclusion that there is some transformation principle which transformed the avirulent bacteria into virulent bacteria.

The same experiment was performed in 1944 to test the nature of the transforming principle through enzymatic degradation by treating the solution with DNase, RNase and protease.

The culture treated with DNase failed to grow as the enzyme digested the DNA. This confirmed that the DNA is the genetic material transformed the bacteria.
