oldest landmass was a part of Gondwana land.This Included India,South Africa,South America, Antartica As one single land piece,The conventional currents spilts this plates into numerous pieces and thus drifting of This plate to the North.Hence,This plate Collides with much Larger plate i.e. Lurrasia Plate in the North and the sendiments accumulated in the geosyncline region known as the Tethys sea ,drifted and formatioof much larger chain of Himalayas
