as u know atoms in liquid are far from each other compared to solid where they are closely packed but in gas the atoms are furtherest apart
expansion occur when there is rise in temperature where the atoms move faster and breaks the intermolecular between them. therefore when it breaks the force keeping them together they go far from each other.
to conclude the liquid atoms will disperse but gases atom will disperse furthest
