Ph change in our alimentary canal is important. The breakdown of food in our stomach needs an acidic medium which is provided by hydrochloric acid. HCl has the ph of about 2 which also kills bacteria. Only in acidic medium peptones can act. We may also face dental pbm due to ph change in our mouth.
