Hey....!!! :))
_____________
_____________

plant obtained the gases they need through there leaves.

They require oxygen for respiration and carbon dioxide fir photosynthesis.

Photosynthesis:- the complex process by which carbon dioxide, water, and certain inorganic salts are converted into carbohydrates by green plants, algae, and certain bacteria, using energy from the sun and chlorophyll. Origin ofphotosynthesis.

reaction:-
6CO2 + 6H2O ------> C6H12O6 + 6O2
Sunlight energy

 Where: CO2 = carbon dioxide
H2O = water
Light energy is required
C6H12O6 = glucose
O2 = oxygen

Respiration:-

Respiration is the biochemical processin which the cells of an organism obtain energy by combining oxygen and glucose, resulting in the release of carbon dioxide, water, and ATP (the currency of energy in cells).

Reaction:-
C6H12O6 + 6O2 -------------------> 6CO2 + 6H2O + ~38 ATP

In order to carry on photosynthesis green plants need a supply of carbon dioxideand a means of disposing of oxygen.

the distance that gases must diffusion in even a large plant is not great Each living cell in the plant is located close to the surface. While obvious for leaves, it is also true for stems. The only living cells in the stem are organized in thin layers just beneath the bark. The cells in the interior are dead and serve only to provide mechanical support.

Stomatal opening and closing depends on changes in the turgor of the guard cells. When water flows into the guard cells by osmosis, their turgor increases and they expand. Due to the relatively inelastic inner wall, the guard cells bend and draw away from each other, so the pore opens. If the guard cells loose water the opposite happens and the pore closes.

The guard cells lower their water potential to draw in water from the surrounding epidermal cells, by actively accumulating potassium ions. This requires energy in the form of ATP which, is supplied by the chloroplasts in the guard cells.

Heya !!

Here's your answer.. ⬇⬇

▶ Respiration in Plants

↪ Plants also needs energy like animals. They get this energy by process of respiration. Plants also use O2 from air and releases CO2.
↪ The respiration of plant different from that animals by following ways :-

1) All parts of a plant ( root, stem and leaf ) perform respiration independently.

2) There is a little transport of gases from one part to another.

3) Respiration in plant occurs at much slower rate compare to animals.

▶ Respiration by roots through diffusion :

↪ Roots of a plant take oxygen for respiration from air present in between soil particles by diffusion process.
↪ The extension of the epidermal cells of a root are known as root hair.
↪ These root hair are in the contact with the air in the soil hence, oxygen diffuses into root hairs and reaches to the all cells of the root for respiration.
↪ The CO2 gas produced in the cell of the root during respiration moves out through the root by diffusion only.

▶ Respiration by Stem through diffusion :

↪ The stem of herbs have stomata, so exchange of gases takes place through stomata.
↪ The oxygen from air diffuses into stem through stomata and reaches to all the cells of stem for respiration.
↪In hard and woody stem of big plants do not have stomata. In woody stem the bark of tree has lenticles for exchange of respiratory gases.

▶ Respiration by leaves through diffusion :

↪ The leaves of plant have small pores on their surface known as stomata.
↪ The exchange of respiratory gases take place through stomata.
↪ In leaves during day-time photosynthesis occurs in which O2 diffuses out and CO2 diffuses in.
↪ But at night-time in absence of sunlight photosynthesis doesn't occurs so O2 diffuses in and CO2 diffuses out.
