For example in India the following arrangements guarantees that the interests of the minorities are secured and protected.
a. Reserved Constituencies- There are constituencies reserved for the SC's and ST's from where the candidates belonging to the above mentioned categories can stand for elections.
b. Government's Reservation Policy- Provides for reservation of seats in jobs and educational institutions for the SC's and ST's
c. 73rd and 74th Constitutional amendment acts provided for 1/3rd reservation of seats in the local bodies for the weaker section and women.
d. Women's Representation Bill which sought to provide 1/3rd reservation of seats for women in the Parliament has been passed in the Rajya Sabha.
e. One can also give example of how our Constitution guarantees that the rights of the minorities are duly protected through Fundamental Rights and Directive Principles. Example of minority rights are Right to freedom of religion, cultural and educational rights.
