The Treaty of Paris was the culmination of the American Revolution, where the 13 Colonies won independence from Great Britain. It was signed on 1783 in Paris, by representatives of the United States of America (Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and John Jay) and representatives of King Charles 3 .

Great Britain saw an opportunity to stop spending money and resources into the war, while enjoying a trade alliance with the colonies that would benefit them, so the Crown agreed to recognize the 13 Colonies as a new independent nation, United States of America.

They ensured peace improving certain articles that benefited both countries, for example; All prisoners from both sides were to be released, properties of the Loyalists were to be returned, both countries would have access to the Mississippi River.
