The secretion and inhibition of hormones is controlled by biofeedback mechanism.
Suppose, pituitary gland secretes growth hormone. It is secreted in 100% concentration. After some time, it will reach it's half life, that is, 50% of its original concentration. That time, a signal of minus(-) i.e. Inhibition will be sent, that now no more growth hormone is required.
