when the burner is placed below the beaker the heat of the burner is transport in the beaker and so the beaker is of glass the glass is a godd conductor of heat so because of heating glass the water in the beaker gets heated .

When a burner is kept below A beaker ,Due to radiation of heat the water just Above the Bottom surface of the beaker gets heated and goes up. Water from the sides comes and takes the Place of that water and gets heated,,,,this water also goes up.... This process continues untill whole water is heated,.
