Explain how we can walk easily on rough and hard surface than on slippery surface?

we can walk easily on rough surface because rough surface makes more friction with our feet.

or we cannot walk easily on slippy surface because here friction is very less.

(without friction we don't hold any thing, we don't walk properly etc)
