When image is formed on the retina. The light sensitive cells of retina get activated and they generate electrical signals. These signals are send to brain by the optic nerves for the interpretation.

We perceive the objects through our senses.

We can sense the object through our eyes, through touch or by the description given to us, through our imagination.

When we see an object it is reflected in our eyes and follows a path which leads to the brain, the brain then recognizes the object if it is already known to the individual or if it is unknown the brain does not understand it.
