during the first world war british were in a need of men, money and material. in exchange for this much help thye promised freedom for our country. the INC completely agreed with britisers and gave them soldiers and money for war weapon. after the war, the biritishers, who were also known as promise breakers did not give freedom to india. this was when Indian's feelings for freedom awoke and Indians and muslims reunited to gain independence.
