If I were a fisherman, living in a fishing village with 15 families, I share the same common purpose with those of the villagers. I would get involved in the community to practice my profession in a harmonious, sociable and sustainable manner. A fisherman's life is filled with unpredictability and hardships.
a) I would form a co-operative society to bring together a feeling of belonging. If I have an expertise in a fishing method, I would teach the others the technique so everybody in the village benefits.
b) The weather poses unpredictability and a fisherman's life is dangerous if the weather is rough. In a community we watch each other's back to keep everyone safe.
c) Safe and legal fishing practices are healthy in the long run. A practice that can affect the sustenable growth of fish may harm the entire community and environment too. So keeping in mind the dangers, I would not practice any hazardous fishing method to harm the community or the environment.
A community would grow only if there is healthy involvement of everybody. Selfish and illegal practices not only would harm the community and you, it would also harm the environment in the long run.
We can get involved in a local community structure by doing the following things.
