Explain how you found the volume of water in the fish tank if it was only 1/2 full with water. Show your work and solution. Don't forget your UNITS!

You have a fish tank with the following dimensions:

Height: 3 feet

Width: 1.5 feet

Length: 2 feet

Answer:

Since we have got 3 dimensions i.e length,breadth and height

Therefore, the fishtank must be of a cuboid shape

So,volume of cuboid = lbh

= 3*1.5*2

=9 cubic feet

But,A.T.Q ,

tank is half filled

so volume of water in tank = 1/2*volume

= 9/2

= 4.5 cubic feet

Therefore,water available in fishtank = 4.5 cubic feet
