According to Huygen's principle for propagation of wavefront will be along all Directions . All the point where wave reach at same time is called wavefront , propagation of wavefront stabilised on the following two assumptions ;

(1) Each point on a wavefront acts as fresh source if disturbance .

(2) The new wavefront of any later time is obtained by taking the forward envelope of the secondary wavelets at that point .
