Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle states that there is inherent uncertainty in the act of measuring a variable of a particle. Commonly applied to the position and momentum of a particle, the principle states that the more precisely the position is known the more uncertain the momentum is and vice versa.

HUYGEN'S UNCERTAINTY PRINCIPLE:

  • It states that it is not possible to simultaneously determine the position and the momentum of an electron precisely. Their is bound to be some error during evaluation.

Mathematical Equation:

 \Delta x \times  \Delta p \geqslant  \dfrac{h}{4\pi}

 \implies \Delta x \times (m \times  \Delta v) \geqslant  \dfrac{h}{4\pi}

 \implies \Delta x \times  \Delta v\geqslant  \dfrac{h}{4\pi m}

  • ∆x is the error in calculation of position.

  • ∆v is the in calculation of velocity.

Whenever, position or velocity gets determined with no error, ∆x or ∆v becomes zero and the counter part becomes infinite. So, if error becomes zero for one component, the error for the other component becomes infinite.
