This system was introduced by Warren Hastings.It is also known as the system of Auction because the land was given to the highest bidder.Most of the bidders usually offered more than they could actually pay .They didnot cultivate the land themselves .They had the tenants or small farmers to do it for them.The bidders try to extract the maximum from them .It made the condition of farmers miserable
