I thought it's a very good question
a) silver chloride is kept in dark colored bottles bcuz when sunlight is falling on it react with it and become greyish in colour
b) magnesium ribbon should be cleaned with sand paper before combustion bcuz it's react with oxygen present in air and forms a layer of magnesium oxide which is unreactive in nature
c) oily food should be keep in air tight container bcuz when they react with air there smell and taste get changed and they become rancid.......
I hope it's help u.....

hi.

1) Dark coloured bottles interrupt the path of light such that light cannot reach silver chloride in the bottles and its decomposition is prevented. It is known that silver chloride decomposes to silver and chlorine in the presence of light.
This is shown in the reaction given below:
2Agcl(s)-----> 2Ag(s) + Cl2(g)

2) Magnesium ribbon is cleaned with a sand paper before burning to remove the layer of magnesium oxide. Magnesium, we know is a very reactive metal. It combines with the oxygen present in the atmosphere to form a layer of magnesium oxide (MgO). This layer interferes in the further reaction of metal. Thus, magnesium is rubbed with sand paper to remove this layer.

3)IT DOES NOT ALLOW AIR TO COME IN CONTACT WITH THE FOOD AND THIS PREVENTS OXIDATION OF FOOD. THUS, THE FOOD NEVER BECOME RANCID AND ITS SMELL AND TASTE REMAINS SAME.

hope helps uh
