"a. The family proceeded towards the southern Indian Ocean heading towards Cape Town.

On 2nd January, the waves turn out to be dangerous turning out to be a disaster with the dark sky. It was a huge wave breaking onto their ship.

b. The narrator and his wife lost all the hopes and thought that they will die. However, their kids were in danger, they remained optimistic about the situation and didn’t show any fear.

Even the children cheered for them and showing courage.

c. The children become the hope to the narrator and his wife. It was them who gave them strength to be optimistic in such a situation.
