→ This sign is known as the sign of proportionality. Basically the proportional is something that has a relatively correct relationship of size or that is appropriate.

→ In other words when quantities have the same relative size or we can say that they have the same ratio.

There are two types of proportional signs:-

● Directly proportional.

● Inversely proportional.

Directly proportional :- When two quantities are veries equally with each other.

Example:- Like suppose we have two quantities A and B. Here if A will be increases then B will be also increases with A equally then it will be called as directly proportional. Like in other words A is directly proportional to B.

Inversely proportional:- When two quantities veries with each other equally but in opposite directions.

Example:- Like suppose we have two quantity A and B. Here if A will be increases then B will be automatically decreases with same rate. Then we called it as A is inversely proportional to B. This is called as inversely proportional.

The figure:- In given figure we can clearly see that time is inversely proportional to speed. It means when speed will be increases then time internal will be decreases. And if the time will be increases then speed will be automatically decreases.
