generally there are 46 DNA molecule in a normal functioning cell which are present in a form of chromatin thread in nucleus .

during s phase of interphase of either mitosis Apr meiosis the DNA got replicated and there are 92 molecules now.

one chromatid represent one DNA on nondividing cell here 92 dna forms 92 chromatid but these chromatid are joined together at centromere to forms 46 chromosome called as metaphysic chromosome having four arms and two chromatid just like each other.
