This valence electrons is shared by another atom of oxygen thus resulting in the O2 molecule. This makes the melting point of oxygen high, and there is less electrical conductivity since covalent bonds do not permit free flow of electrons., The covalent bond of O2 does not permit the electrical conductivity.
