Based on Longitudanal divisions the Himalayas have been divided on the basis of regions from west to east.These divisions have been demarcated by the river valleys.They are :-

The part of Himalays lying between the Indus and the Satluj River is known as Punjab Himalayas

The part of Himalays lying between the Satluj and the Kali River is known as Kumaon Himalayas

The part of Himalays lying between the Kali and the Teesta River is known as Nepal Himalayas

The part of Himalays lying between theTeesta and the Dihang River is known as Assam Himalayas
