The periodic table is constructed on the basis of increasing atomic number and repeating electronic configuration of the atoms . The structural features of the long form of periodic table has seven periods and eighteen groups. The lanthanides and actinides are supposed to be in the main periodic table. But in the modern periodic table they are removed from the main table.
