Answer :
Refractive index of prism = 2
We have to find net deviation of ray light
Angle of incidence at point A,
- i₁ = 90° - 30° = 60°
★ Deviation at point A :
⭆ d = 180° - 2i
⭆ d = 180° - 2(60)
⭆ d = 60° (CW)
Angle of incidence at point B = 6°
Applying snell's law, we get
➠ n₁sin i = n₂sin r
➠ 2 (sin6°) = (1) sin r
➠ 2 (0.104) = sin r
➠ r = sin‾¹ (0.208)
➠ r = 12°
★ Deviation at point B :
⭆ d' = 12° - 6°
⭆ d' = 6° (ACW)
⧪ Net deviation :
➤ ∆ = d - d'
➤ ∆ = 60°(CW) - 6°(ACW)
➤ ∆ = 54° (CW)
Hence, (4) is the correct answer.
Cheers!
