So, nearly one-fourth of the people are engaged in non-farming activities such as dairy farming, small scale manufacturing, trading and transport.

Small scale manufacturing in Palampur involved production on a small scale by using simple methods. Very few people are engaged in small scale manufacturing in the village Palampur. Making of jaggery from sugarcane is one of the small scale manufacturing activities that take place in Palampur. Some people are also engaged in other small scale manufacturing activities like spinning, weaving, leather making etc. Labour are generally not hired for small scale manufacturing units.

The non-farming sector though not strong but is fast improving in the village Palampur. The village Palampur is becoming more and more prosperous day-by-day.
