Food Management :-

Food management in India has three basic objectives:-

Procurement of foodgrains :- from farmers at remunerative prices,

Distribution of foodgrains to the consumers, particularly the vulnerable sections of the society at affordable prices, and

Maintenance of food buffers for food security and price stability.

The instrument for food management are the minimum support price \mathsf{(M.S.P)} and Central issue prise \mathsf{(C.I.P)}. The nodal agency which undertakes the procurement and distribution and storage is the Food corporation of India \mathsf{(F.C.I)}
