Answer:

(a) Atmospheric pressure is a force in an area pushed against a surface by the weight of the atmosphere of Earth, a layer of air.

(b) Liquid pressure is the increase in pressure at increasing depths in a liquid.

(c) Relative density, or specific gravity, is the ratio of the density (mass of a unit volume) of a substance to the density of a given reference material.

(d) Horsepower, the common unit of power; i.e., the rate at which work is done. In the British Imperial System, one horsepower equals 33,000 foot-pounds of work per minute—that is, the power necessary to lift a total mass of 33,000 pounds one foot in one minute.

(e) Density, mass of a unit volume of a material substance. The formula for density is d = M/V, where d is density, M is mass, and V is volume.

(f) Energy conservation is the effort made to reduce the consumption of energy by using less of an energy service.

(g) Alternative energy generally refers to any group of non-traditional fuel sources that does not burn fossil fuels or use up any type of natural resources which will result in damage or harm to the environment.
