First of all you must know what is osmosis

Osmosis is the spontenous flow of solute particles from lower concentrated solution to high concentrated solution.

This concentration gradient is osmotic potential.


Osmotic Pressure

The pressure required just to stop the entry of solute particles from lower concentration to high conctration is called osmotic pressure.
