Here is the answer :

INERTIA OF REST:

1) When hanging carpet is beaten with a stick , the dust particles start coming out of it.

This happens because of the force of the stick moves to and fro slightly but the dust particles tend to remain at rest due to their inertia and hence they separate from the carpet

(Or)

2) When tree is shaken vigorously it's fruits and leaves fall down

Due to the inertia of rest the fruits and leaves of the tree tend to remain at rest and hence detach from the tree and falls down

(Or)

3) When a car or bus stop suddenly, passengers fall backward.

This is due to the inertia of rest the passengers tend to remain in their state off rest even when the car or a bus starts moving.
