Tagore did not believe in the conventional form of education that is found everywhere around the globe. As a child, when he went to school, he could barely concentrate in class. He found himself distracted by the tiniest of things - but these things were all a part of nature!

He dropped out of school when he was quite young, and was then home-schooled. His ideas about education revolved around the idea that children should learn and grow in their natural environment and not within four walls alone.

As he grew older, and finished his education, he continued pursuing his passion for writing, of which nature, mysticism and exoticism is a major part. These ideas were developed at an early age because of the fact that he was home-schooled and spent a lot of time exploring nature.

This also helps us understand the idea behind the founding of “Shantiniketan” - The abode of peace, where he wanted his students to learn and grow in the laps of natur
