As we know, when kinetic energy increases, the temp. also increases. So in the case of solid, force of attraction is highest. When we heat it, particles gain kinetic energy, nd start to move away from each other. At a specific temp. particle move away from each other in such a way that it convert into liquid. Then, again in the case of liquid, particles gain kinetic energy nd form gas.
