LATENT HEAT :

☆ It is the heat required to convert 1 kg of substance from one state to another without changing in temperature.

There are two types of Latent Heat.

(i) Latent Heat of Fusion : It is the process of conversion of unit mass of a substance from solid to liquid state at constant temperature.

(ii) Latent Heat of Vaporisation : it is the amount of heat required to convert unit mass of liquid completely into vapour state without any change in temperature.
