Hypertonic solution- If the medium surrounding the cell has a low concentration than solute, meaning a very concentrated solution. the cell
will loose water. This is a hypertonic solution.

hypotonic solution- If the medium surrounding the cell has a higher water concentration and lower solute concentration, meaning a very dilute solution. Such a solution is hypotonic solution.

isotonic- If the medium surrounding the cell has exactly the same concentration of water, there will be no net movement of water across cell membrane. such a solution is isotopic solution.
