If you are very strong inBond line notation, (1)C=C is present in the 2 nd position, Bromine is present in the 4th position (According to ORDER of PRIORITY RULE). Then if u attempt to find the longest chain, Its has 5 carbon atoms. Thus the name, Pent (According to IUPAC Nomenclature rules. With the C=C, in between 2and 3rd position, Thus - 2-ene.Thus the name, 4-Bromo - pent - 2-ene.

(2)(1)C=C is present in the 2 nd position, Bromine is present in the 4th position (According to ORDER of PRIORITY RULE). Also, if you see there is a Metal group branched in the 3rd carbon. Then if u attempt to find the longest chain, Its has 5 carbon atoms. Thus the name, Pent (According to IUPAC Nomenclature rules. Thus, the name 4-Bromo - 3-methyl-pent-2-ene.

Think this helps you.... Make ur concept more clear.
