Sometimes it may be in females oviducts are blocked and fertilisation doesn't take place so in this case doctor collect some freshly released eggs and keep the eggs and sperm together in a test tube and if the fertilisation occur then zygote is allow to develop and then kept in mother's uterus. The baby is then born like other normal babies but the baby born by this process is known as test tube baby.

I some womens oviducts are blocked these womens are unable to bear babies because sperms cannot reach the eggs for fertilisation in such cases doctors collect freshly released eggs and sperms and keep them together for few hours for IVF or in vitro fertilisation ( fertilisation outside the body ) in case fertilisation occurs the zygote is allowed to develop for about a week and then it is placed in mother's uterus ,complete development takes place in uterus and the baby is born like any other baby . babies born through this technique is called test tube babies this term is actually misleading because babies cannot grow in test tubes
