Jallianwala bagh massacre is one of the most brutal action of British. When India was under British rule many inhumane rules were passed and Indians suffered a lot but on 13 April 1919, General Dyer ordered to shoot on a group of people who were their to attend Baisakhi fair.
General Dyer said that he did all this to create fear in heart of Indians. He thought some people came there to plan to fight against British rule and protest against arrest of Dr Satya Pal and Saifuddin Kitchlew. According to Rowlatt Act passed on February - British could arrest anyone without trial if there is anything suspicious but this mass killing lead to reallies in northern states.The massacre aroused the fury of the Indian people and the government replied with further brutalities. People in Punjab were made to crawl on the streets. They were put in open cages and flogged. Newspapers were banned and their editors put behind the bars or deported.
