Krebs cycle is a process performed by aerobic organisms to release stored energy through oxidation of Acetyl co-A which is derived from carbohydrates, fats and proteins..

This process is also known as citric acid cycle because citric acid is the very first product to be obtained by this process.

Also the another name for this particular cycle is TCA cycle i.e the tricarboxylic cycle
