explain kinetic friction????

NU200921: Kinetic friction is a force which happens two moving surfaces. Both the moving surfaces will experience opposite friction forces from each other. It is also responsible for wear and tear and that’s why we need oil to lubricate machine parts, as it reduces friction. Examples are: (1) Rubbing hands to create heat. (2) Skis sliding against snow.

Kinetic Friction :-

It is having energy because of motion. The opposing force that comes into play when an object actually moved over the surface of another object.

Kinetic friction is of 2 types :-

  • Sliding friction
  • Rolling friction

________________________________

Sliding friction :- It is the opposite force that only comes to play when an object slides over the another object.

Example:-

  • Log of wood when placed on a flat surface slides.

Rolling friction:- It is the opposing force that comes into play when one object rolls over the surface of other object.

Example:-

  • Rolling of football.
