There are five kingdoms in which organims are classified :

  • Monera
  • Protista
  • Fungi
  • Plantae
  • Animalia

Kingdom Fungi :

  • They are eukaryotic multicellular organisms with cell wall which is made up of a chemical called az Chitin.
  • They are heterotrophic in nature and they feed on dead and decayed organisms.
  • They form a symbiotic relationship with blue-gree algae which is known as Lichen.
  • Example : Aspergillus , Agartious etc.

Symbiotic Relationship :

Symbiotic Relationship is defined as mutual dependence of two organisms in which they help each other in survival.

KINGDOM FUNGI

Fungi is a kind of eukaryotic organism. It includes organisms like yeast, moulds and mushrooms.

✔ About It's Structure :-

  • This is a single celled organism or multicellular organism.
  • It has a filamentous structure. (Exception :- Yeast).
  • It contains a long thread like structures called hyphae.
  • In these, nucleus is dense and is covered with chromatin threads.

✔ It's Characterstics :-

  • Fungi is a non vascular, non motile kind of organisms.
  • They store food in form of starch.
  • They reproduce by spores.
  • The nucleus is very small.
  • They lack chlorophyll ; Hence, They are not able to do photosynthesis.

✔ Classification :-

On Basis Of Nutrition,

  • Saprophytic
  • Parasitic
  • Symbiotic

On Basis Of Formation Of Spores,

  • Zygomycetes
  • Ascomycetes
  • Basidiomycetes
