Lamarckism is the hypothesis that an organism can pass on characteristics that it has acquired through use or disuse during its lifetime to its offspring. It is also known as the inheritance of acquired characteristics or soft inheritance.

Mechanism of evolution can not be experimented within the short life span of a man. So there is no remarkable experimental evidence to explain the mechanism of evolution, it can be studies on the basis of observed facts and theoretical concepts
