• Land degradation refers to the loss of the production capacity of the soil.It results in food insecurity ,increased rates of food prices,change of climate,environmental hazards and loss of ecosystem services.During degradation of land,carbon and nitrous oxide goes into atmosphere.

• Land Degradation is one of the most important issue around the world.The methods  to overcome this problem are:-

1. Planting of trees on a large scale .
2. Checking mining activities.
3. Check proper discharge of industrial effluents.
4. Sustainable use of land.
5. Checking of grazing activities.
