The land resource in India is divided into agricultural, forest land, land for pasture and grazing and also the waste land. According to the research, the 54% of the total land area is cultivable, 22.5% of land is full of forests and the 3.45% area is used for the grazing. Moreover, the land under forest has not increased since 1960-61 because there was more demand of the land in the post independence era to expand the agriculture.
