it is define as a molecules in contact with a solid surface at a fixed temperature, the Langmuir Isotherm, developed by Irving Langmuir . describes the partitioning between gas phase and adsorbed species as a function of applied pressure

 Irving Langmuir proposed anotherAdsorption Isotherm which explained the variation of Adsorption with pressure. Based on his theory, he derived Langmuir Equation which depicted a relationship between the number of active sites of the surface undergoing adsorption and pressure.
