Hello Varun
Xender, WAP, GPRS, MOBILE IP etc are  the latest data transfering apps. Now let me explain ...
Technology transfer, also called transfer of technology (TOT), is the process of transferring technology from the places where it  originated to wider distribution among more people and places. (we can associate it with the transfer of knowledge too) Horizontal transfer is the movement of technologies from one area to another. Vertical transfer occurs when technologies are moved from applied research centers to research and development departments.Technology transfer is promoted at conferences organized by  groups such  as the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and the Association of University Technology Managers. Local venture capital organizations such as the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA) also sponsor conferences where discussions related to the commercialization of technology occure frequently
Hope it helps
