There are two laws of Chemical Combination :
⇒Law of Conservation of Mass.
⇒Law of Constant Proportions.

Law of constant proportion states that in a chemical substance , the elements are present in definite proportions by mass.
Example -
any water molecule is always made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom in a 2:1 ratio.

LAW OF CONSTANT PROPORTIONS

It is also called Law of Definite Proportions.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was given by French chemist Joseph Proust .
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The law states that

"A Pure Chemical Compound always consists of same elements that are combined together in a fixed or definite proportion by mass"

Example --->

In compound water (H2O), the ratio of mass of hydrogen to that of mass of oxygen is always 1:8 , whatever the volume or quality be.
This means in 9g of water, 1 g is that of hydrogen and 8 g is of oxygen.
