⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Factors Of different characters assort ( segregate ) independent of each other during gametogenesis ( gamete formation ) and fuse randomly to form next generation."Explanation : New combinations [ Yellow round and green wrinkled ] were produced only if the factors of yellow and round character separated independent ( without influencing ) of each other. Similarly, the factors of green and wrinkled characters are separated during gamete formation. They are rearranged randomly during fertilization and produce new combinations.

During meiosis, chromosomes are separated into multiple gametes. Genes linked on a chromosome can rearrange themselves through the process of crossing-over.
