A N S W E R :

\underline{\mathcal{\red{REFLECTION\::}}}

The returning back of a light ray in the same medium after striking with a bright & shiny surface is called reflection.

\underline{\mathcal{\red{LAW\:\:OF\:\:REFLECTION\::}}}

There are two laws of reflection of light :

  • The incident ray, the refracted ray and the normal ray to the interface of two transparent medium at the point of incidence, all lie in the same plane.
  • The ratio of sine of angle of incidence to the sine of angle of reflection is a constant, [example - sin i/sin r] means (the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection).

Attachment a figure according to the given question.

Important Terms to Remember :

⇒ The light ray that comes to a mirror is called incident light ray.

⇒ The point at which the incident light ray falls on the mirror is called point of incidence.

⇒ The perpendicular imaginary line drawn at the point of incidence is called normal .

⇒ Light does not change medium.
