In this method a branch of the parent plant is buried in the soil.

the portion of the plant which is in contact with the soil produces roots and this rooted branch is called layer.

layer is then detached from the parent plant and act as a new one.

Explanation:

In this process and low growing stem is bent down to touch the hole dug into the ground and then permanently put in that place using clothes or anything else and then covered with soil .

A few inches of leafy growth is left above the ground for the stem to grow into a new plant .
