The term April Thesis relates to the three demands made by Lenin on his return from exile to Russia in April 1917:
(i) war be brought to a close.
(ii) land be transferred to the peasants.
(iii) banks be nationalised.
He wanted the Bolshevik party to rename itself the Communist Party to indicate its radical aims. .
Many in the Bolshevik party felt time were not ripe for these radical aims. However, subsequent developments and the October Revolution 1917 belied their attitude.
